Dear DCPS Parents, Guardians and Community Members

We are excited to share that the Health Wagon Medical Van is now stationed on our Ridgeview Campus, conveniently located behind RMS and near RES. This invaluable resource will be on campus every Monday and Friday, and we are actively working to expand its availability to a third day during the week.

With parental permission, any sick child will have the opportunity to be escorted to the Medical Van to consult with a dedicated nurse practitioner   You'll find the parental permission form for students included in the back of Student Handbook,(blue book) which is being sent home on Monday, August 10th or Tuesday, August 11th 225.  The title of the permission form is “Southwest Virginia Community Health System.”   Please sign the permission form if you would like your sick child to be quickly seen by a medical provider. Our nurses will ensure that the medical permission forms are processed as soon as they arrive.

We are committed to providing essential medical facilities and services to our students and staff.  This initiative not only addresses the health needs of our students but also supports our dedicated staff members who may be feeling unwell.  Together, we can create an environment where everyone feels cared for and supported.  You are invited to visit the Medical Van and meet Mr. Ratliff.

Thank you for being part of this vital mission!  If you have any questions, please call your child’s school to speak with the school nurse or the Dickenson County School Board Office at 27-926-4643

Kindest regards,

Haydee L. Robinson,

Division Superintendent
